CC obviously had a plan to murder Ash from the beginning. He obviously joined the band because he hated Ashley and wanted to hurt him and that was a master plan. 

So the concert in London was a great opportunity for him to do so. Unfortunate for him is the fact that his aim isn’t that great so Ashley survived the wild drumstick attack.
